Google Cloud launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal on August 25, 2026, a version of its agent platform configured specifically for law firms and corporate legal departments — with Cleary Gottlieb, Freshfields, Weil, and Williams & Connolly as launch firms.
Gemini Enterprise for Legal is organized around four components: "skills" designed specifically for legal tasks, secure connectors to the legal software systems firms already use, third-party agents from legal tech vendors, and a governance layer that gives IT and risk teams visibility into agent outputs and access control. The agents handle contract review, legal research, citation verification, regulatory change monitoring, and court filing preparation.
Google emphasized that client data, each firm's own playbooks, intellectual property, custom agents, and model outputs stay private to each organization and are never used to train or fine-tune Google's base models. That's a mandatory selling point in a sector where attorney-client confidentiality is a legal requirement, not just a preference.
Google said this is the first in a series of industry-specific offerings built on the Gemini Enterprise foundation: an equivalent product for financial services was announced the same day, and the company already plans solutions for healthcare, life sciences, and other professional services. The product is available in preview, with integrators like Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, and others helping customize deployment for complex enterprise architectures.
